St Anton is a legendary ski resort and it was here that alpine skiing had its cradle at the beginning of the 20th century. The local ski club, Ski Club Arlberg, is the oldest in the Alps.
Even today, people mainly choose to come here for the awesome skiing. The atmosphere in the village is both cozy and international, and the quality of restaurants and entertainment is high.
It is simply difficult to find a better place for a skiing holiday and that is also why we chose to settle down here!
The ski area
The ski area is the largest in Austria and here it snows more than 9 meters per year on average. The result is a long season with snow-sure pistes and basically unlimited opportunities for off-piste skiing. If you are a beginner, you should perhaps think about choosing another destination, but if you are an average or good skier, it is difficult to find anything better. What is unique in St Anton is that the skiing is so varied and that there is plenty of challenging skiing also for really good skiers.

In addition to all the usual pistes, there are 200 km of marked and avalanche-protected trails for loose snow skiing (ski-routes) - this alone corresponds to twice as long as all the pistes in Ã…re. As if this were not enough, finally there is also an endless supply of uncontrolled freeride terrain. It is no wonder that the ski area has been named the world's best in many tests.

You can read more on the lift company's website . If you want to see the current snow depth in St Anton or if you can do the historical snow depth in previous years, you can do it at snödjup.se .
Freeriding
When you get out into the terrain for real, you begin to understand that it is not without reason that St Anton has become known as one of the world's best resorts for freeriding.

When you leave the secured slopes and ski routes, you must have both the right knowledge, the right equipment (avalanche transmitter, ABS backpack, first aid kit, shovel, probe, PLB...) and the right knowledge of weather and avalanche risks. If you do not feel comfortable with this, we recommend that you hire a certified mountain guide.

Ski Touring
The feeling of going uphill for a couple of hours with skins under the skis and then whizzing down into untouched snow is majestic. If you have never tried this before, there are plenty of good places for beginners, for example the now closed ski system in the neighboring village of Pettneu, or if you are a little more adventurous, you can go over the mountains to Kappl/Ischgl.

Cross-country skiing
There are approximately 40 km of fine cross-country trails. All tracks are double and you choose for yourself whether you ride skating or classic.
The Stanzertal trail is 22 km long and runs along the Rosanna river. Our favorite, however, is the 10 km track in Verwall, which is close to the hotel. The track is hilly and varied and you can take the opportunity to make a stop at the super cozy Wagner Hütte.
Sleigh rides
We've never actually tried this, but it's said that there are few things as romantic as sledding through a forest of snow-laden firs surrounded by towering mountains. We will make the booking for you.
Winter climbing
When the weather is really stable and beautiful, you can give yourself a challenge beyond the ordinary - winter climbing. There is a winter climbing route (Via Ferrata) that starts at the top of the highest lift in the Rendl area at approximately 2800 meters. You climb from there along a mountain ridge with your skis on your backpack.
You have a climbing harness and secure yourself all the time in the steel wire that is set up along the path.
When you have completed the entire path, you put on your skis and can now choose between turning right towards Rossfall (a slightly easier route) or turning left down into the divinely beautiful and untouched Malfondalen and down towards the village of Pettneu where you take a bus or taxi back to St Anton.
This adventure is not for beginners. You need to be physically strong, able to climb reasonably well and have the right skills and equipment for the off-piste skiing that follows. As usual, it is always best to hire a mountain guide if you feel unsure.
But there's no doubt that if you give it a go, you'll have a memory for life.
Apres ski
St Anton is known for its crazy après-ski. There are a number of famous places such as Heustadl, Taps, Krazy Kanguruh and Mooserwirt along the party piste down towards the village. In the village there are also several places with really good live music and full of people.

We also offer a quiet après ski with backgammon, ice-cold beer and pleasant company at our club house after skiing.
Climbing wall
For those who like indoor climbing and bouldering, there is a nice climbing hall in St Anton and you can rent equipment on site. It is based on the fact that you can already climb.
